Voter Awareness Campaigns Launched in Navi Mumbai Ahead of Assembly Elections

As part of the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) program, various media are being used to urge every voter in Navi Mumbai to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for November 20. Today, in this initiative, students of NMMC Secondary School No. 108 in Digha were educated on the importance of voting and were asked to encourage their parents, families, and neighbors to vote. Additionally, in NMMC Secondary School No. 113, Mahape, a rangoli and painting competition was held under the theme "Wake up, Voter, Be the Thread of Democracy." By spreading the voting message through students, they not only understand the importance of voting but also help convey the responsibility of voting to their parents and acquaintances. In the Nerul division, the Voter Awareness Team visited the daily market in Sector 29 and interacted with the businesspeople and customers, encouraging them to exercise their voting rights. A collective oath to vote was also taken here.
Similarly, in Vashi division, Sector 15A, at Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil (Modern College), voter awareness programs were conducted through classroom interactions with young people. First-time voters showed special enthusiasm. They were encouraged to appeal to their family members, neighbors, and acquaintances to exercise their voting rights as granted by the Constitution. Voting awareness was also raised among commuters at the Vashi Highway bus stop, and a voting pledge was taken with citizens who come to the park for jogging, along with the park staff. Moreover, employees of the Nerul, Vashi, and Turbhe division offices, as well as citizens visiting these offices, collectively took a pledge to vote. Under the guidance of NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, various awareness programs are being organized by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation through the SVEEP program. For the two Assembly constituencies in the NMMC area, 150 and 151, voter awareness activities are being conducted under the supervision of the SVEEP Nodal Officer appointed by the Thane District Collector’s office, Additional Commissioner Mr. Sunil Pawar. The SVEEP Nodal Officer for Belapur Assembly constituency, and Vashi Division Officer Mr. Sagar More, along with the SVEEP Nodal Officer for Airoli Assembly constituency, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Abhilasha Mhatre-Patil, are actively organizing these initiatives.
